LISA BIAGIOTTI

I'm an independent journalist and filmmaker currently directing the documentary deepsouth (2012). I'm also in production on films about the tragedy of happiness and the globalization of crime in British Columbia. My last documentary, The World's Toilet Crisis (2010), covered sanitation in South East Asia. In 2009, I received a Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for the videos I produced on the humanitarian crisis in eastern Congo. I researched Muslim immigration to Italy as a Fulbright Fellow and I graduated from Columbia University's School of Journalism.
